Changing up your skincare routine for the summer!

What do you need to consider for your skincare routine as the weather gets warmer?

As the weather turns warmer, we tend to spend more of our spare time outside, and if you're like me and can’t wait to get some fresh air and sunshine, taking care of your skin becomes even more vital.

It's worth taking a moment to think about your current skincare routine and consider whether you need to make adjustments to ensure your skin stays protected.

Here are some of my top skincare tips to help keep your skin healthy and radiant while enjoying the sunshine:

Keep It Simple!

Choose a straightforward routine to minimise time spent in the bathroom.

Start with an oil-based cleansing balm, as these are non-irritating and won’t dry out your skin, compromise its moisture barrier, or disrupt its pH. Use our gentle cleansing balm before bedtime, with warm or cool water - the Prickly Pear and Cucumber fruit seed oil-enriched cleansing balm will effortlessly remove makeup or sun cream

**Apply the balm with clean, dry hands, scoop out a small amount and warm it between your fingers using a gentle circular motion (or hands, if you’d prefer). Once melted, apply it to your dry face, gently massaging in soothing circles for up to two minutes.

Think about Moisturising AND SPF

Applying a rich moisturiser like the Fox & Bloom Pomegranate & Rose Moisturiser every morning and night will provide your skin with an intensely nourishing barrier, keeping the skin looking and feeling younger, softer, more elasticised and hydrated.

As the weather heats up though it’s time to think about swapping your usual morning moisturiser for an SPF routine for protection from the sun and UV rays, we should particularly focus on wearing a broad-spectrum SPF when spending time outdoors. Choose a sunscreen that is water-resistant and has a high SPF, like my favourite Altruist fluid SPF for the face, which is NOW available via the website.

I love the Altruist's range of SPF products! They are highly regarded in the industry and come recommended and formulated by dermatologist Dr. Andrew Birnie. The Altruist Face Fluid Sunscreen SPF 30 has the consistency of a light moisturiser and blocks 96.7% of UVB. It’s also fragrance-free and is suitable for all skin types.

I am thrilled to now offer the Altruist Face Fluid Sunscreen SPF 30 via our website, providing you with a dermatologist-recommended option that blends seamlessly into your Fox & Bloom skincare regimen. This way, you can enjoy comprehensive care and protection, maintaining your skin's health and beauty all summer long.
